Ms. Hayes received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont and her master’s degree from the Upper Valley Educators Institute. She has worked as an elementary school teacher for thirteen years and has taught grades kindergarten through fifth in both straight and multi-age settings.

Ms. Hayes has experience as a principal intern and substitute principal at CP Smith School in Burlington, Vermont. She has expertise in mathematics assessment and literacy design, has served on district level committees, and planned and implemented staff professional development.

Ms. Hayes lives in Burlington with her family and two Labrador retrievers. She volunteers for the food shelf, Girls on the Run, and several mentoring and after school programs. She is an avid hiker, skier and outdoorswoman. She will bring a wealth of energy and commitment to Brewster-Pierce Memorial School.
